The conference addressed current issues namely balancing between risk and growth, shifting global economic climate and its impact on Asean, managing profiteers and inflationary effects of GST, cyber security, property watch – buy, sell or hold and keeping integrity in business.

Speakers and moderators hailed from diverse background namely practitioners in the accounting profession, commercial sectors, government linked companies and self made entrepreneurs.

Malkit spoke on the need for sound yet robust compliance function to monitor the highly regulated banking industry in our risk-based market environment. Uncertainty is the new normal in business and we just have to be ahead of the curve.

aramjit, a former editor at business weekly The Edge, moderated in a lively and witty manner, the panel on cyber security – is there more smoke than fire in reality?

DNA is a independent news portal that covers the entire ICT ecosystem with offices in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta. Karamjit also appears on the Tech Talk show on BFM radio station.

The panel concluded that security is a people problem. It takes just one person to leak info or change passwords. Imagine having your healthcare patient system being hacked and the data attributes are tampered eg left brain to right brain issue. IT vendors typically sell FUD – short for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt – to the concurrence of the audience.
